Arcapita, The Shard

THE REQUIREMENT

Virtus Security were approached by the client to help them secure their new offices at the prestigious Shard Building, we worked closely with the client to design a system that met with their strict requirements.

THE SOLUTION

Access Control

Virtus Security were approached to design, supply and commission a security system which met the client’s requirements in this prestigious landmark on London’s Southbank using various aspects of electronic security. After discussions with the client it became clear that they had previously encountered issues with access control hardware servers and required a system that used minimal space within the Communications cabinet as this was at a premium.

Based on this requirement Virtus Security specified a web based controller from Honeywell’s NETAXS range of access control solutions, there was no software to load or dedicated PC required.

Intruder Detection

Arcapita required their office to be kept secure from intruders at all times the office is unattended, and provide notification should there be a breach. Virtus Security supplied installed and commissioned a Pyronix Intruder detection system to grade 2 specification which met with the sleek design of the office whilst providing superior detection qualities, with Red care communication to the central monitoring station to enable quick notification to sites security should an incident occur.

Door Entry

Virtus Security supplied a Flush BPT Lithos door entry panel to the main entrance of the building to enable audio and visual communication to the office area within the client’s demise and allow release of the Main entrance door.
