THE REQUIREMENT
Virtus Security were approached by the client to return by tender a proposal, to provide a number of security systems to the new build Northwick Park Hospital modular wards and infectious disease wards. We were successful in our bid and consequently awarded the contract to supply the following components:
Site had the requirement to be able to control who entered and exited the building for the purpose of infection control and the ability to monitor activity in the wards and external areas.
THE SOLUTION
Virtus Security were employed to install ACT access control equipment to each of the sites entry points to the ground floor location and Videx door entry systems to enable video and audio communication between the entrances and nurse bases on each ward.
Each floor had access control installed to the entry/exit from the lift lobby to allow the client to monitor who was entering and exiting the wards, there was also additional door entry systems for communication to enable entry for the public.
In addition to the access control and door entry Virtus Security installed in total 40 x Panasonic IP CCTV units to internal and external areas to allow for site to be continually monitored from sites security control room and recorded for the purpose of evidence and crime prevention.
Throughout the project sites requirements were evolving to enable enhanced security to sensitive areas, as a company we proactively worked with the client to ensure these measures were met with minimal disruption to our completion date, additions included coded entry to sites barrier system and a number of additional entrances.
The project was completed within the required timescales and installed to the expected high standard that Virtus Security strive to provide.
